Caregiver Learning Day July 28, 2017
The Alzheimer's Family Organization (AFO) will host a Caregiver Day at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness on July 28, 2017 that will include educational speakers and a Virtual Dementia Tour, provided by Senior Helpers.
The Virtual Dementia Tour is a science-based simulation of what a person in mid-stage dementia experiences. It can help caregivers better understand what patients and loved ones with dementia are hearing, seeing, and feeling.
Workshop speakers will include AFO President Debbie Selsavage, discussing how to communicate with individuals living with dementia, and Kenneth and Vera Swade, who will explain elder advocacy and guardianship.
The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch provided, at the Historic Schoolhouse on Citrus Avenue, next to Citrus Memorial Hospital.
The AFO is a community based, non-profit organization focused on helping caregivers achieve and maintain a better quality of life not only for their loved ones, but for themselves. For reservations to attend, click here
