Respite Care Financial Reimbursement Program

The Alzheimer's Family Organization offers a Respite Care Financial Assistance Program which provides a monetary reimbursement to caregivers for respite costs. Respite Care is “time off” for the caregiver. The well-being of the caregiver contributes greatly to the well-being of the loved one. Respite services allow caregivers to receive much needed relief and time to do necessary and enjoyable activities.

Is financial assistance available to help pay for respite services?


The Respite Care Financial Reimbursement Assistance Program provides assistance to AFO members who have been approved for the program.






What are the program guidelines?

● The caregiver is responsible for the selection, arrangement and payment of respite services
● Proof of payment must be submitted to the AFO for reimbursement
● Only respite services from the date of approval letter
(valid for 12 months) are covered

Are there any eligibility Requirements?

YES. To qualify for financial reimbursement, the caregiver must: Have a paid membership in the Alzheimer’s Family Organization for at least 3 months. Be a resident of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Northern Hillsborough, Northern Pinellas, Pasco, Southern Marion, or Sumter County. Reside with the loved one. Submit a completed application requesting assistance. Provide a statement from a physician that the loved one has Alzheimer’s disease (Requirements subject to change)
